SLEEP

Get your 8 hours of sleep. Go to bed by 10pm and get up with the sunrise.

Our bodies have a natural circadian rhythm. Don’t fight it by staying up till midnight or 1am and sleeping in late.

The #1 thing you can do to improve your sleep has to do with LIGHT.

Get sunlight first thing when you wake up. Get outside for 10-30 minutes upon arising. And again at sunset 10-30 minutes.

Other ways to improve the quality of your sleep:

  • Minimize blue light before bed and any light while your are sleeping.
    • Wear blue light blocking glasses when watching TV or on your phone or tablet in the evening.
    • You can also get black out shades for your windows or wear an eye mask.
  • Limit EMFs , don’t sleep with your phone near your head. Keep it and all electronics at least 6 feet away. Ideally you would keep it out of the bedroom or put it on airplane mode.
  • If you can’t fall asleep because your mind keeps going, journaling is a great practice. Get all those thoughts out of your head and on paper.
  • Sleep deeper with essential oils like doTERRA’s serenity and cedarwood oil and serenity softgels. I use oils every night before bed.
  • Keep your bedroom cool. Studies support that the body will fall and stay asleep better with cooler temperatures
  • Consider taking a magnesium supplement 2 hours before bed. I like natural calm or Mg/k.
